I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist here in the state of Oklahoma. In 2017, I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Oklahoma. I am TBRI trained as a Practitioner (Trust-Based Relational Intervention), EMDR Basic trained, Theraplay Level 1 trained, a Circle of Security facilitator, a Making Sense of Your Past Worth Facilitator, and certified in TraumaPlay. I have been working with children and families for 10+ years in the early childhood/elementary education and mental health field.
I am passionate about providing safe spaces through play to kids, adolescents, and their families and embrace the philosophy that behind every behavior is a need. Whether it’s a joyful giggle or a tearful outburst, I see each expression as an opportunity for curiosity, connection, understanding, and growth. When we build awareness and lean toward understanding our children’s behaviors, we can learn to accept — leading us toward change and connection.
In my clinical work I often utilize a range of therapeutic modalities based on individual needs including, but not limited to the following: Adlerian Play Therapy, Filial Play Therapy, Experiential Play Therapy, Synergetic Play Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy, Bibliotherapy, Art, and SandTray all within a Family Systems approach.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our families, and our 4 rescued fur babies. One of which is currently in training to be a Therapy Dog here at Connect and Restore and he loves to make new friends!! l also love spending time taking our dogs for walks, relaxing and watching Netflix or reading, and working out.
