I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate, having received a Master of Professional Counseling degree from Oral Roberts University.
I have a passion for helping couples and families gain skills that improve communication and understanding, as well as helping families extract themselves from unhealthy patterns of interaction. I am Level 2 trained in Gottman Method Couple Therapy and I have received additional training from the Gottman Institute in treating affairs and trauma as well as couple therapy within the context of addiction recovery. I am also currently pursuing training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT).
As an EMDR trained clinician, I believe a trauma-informed approach makes it possible to get to the root of maladaptive beliefs about oneself, as well as reprocess traumatic events and memories. I love working with individuals as well as families, and it is an honor to provide a safe space for healing and growth.
Having received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Oklahoma State University in 1999 and a Master of Music Performance degree from Oklahoma City University in 2001, I have spent the last twenty years working in the performing arts. This experience has given me unique insight into performance anxiety, perfectionism, shame, and identity; I love helping clients get to the root of the issues that cause distress in their lives.
Most importantly, I believe in the power of empathy, vulnerability, and humor. It is a sacred privilege to bear witness to the lived experiences of my clients.
I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost 15 years and we have three children who keep us very busy!
