Meet Our Team

Elizabeth Hawbaker

Music Therapist

I have a love for music and for people and have pursued both for my professional career. After graduating from Oral Roberts University with a Music and Arts degree, I began teaching in the classroom and privately. I loved kids and love watching how they learn, but while teaching I began to feel myself more drawn to helping people with music instead of teaching music. This prompted my decision to pursue a career in music therapy because it put together both of these things I loved: music and helping people.

I received my music therapy equivalency degree from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. While in my internship I was able to work with a variety of clients, including senior adults, adults, young adults, and children. During this time, I learned that my heart is to work with children, adolescents and senior adults.  I love being able to connect with my clients in a unique way using music. Music can allow you to communicate without using words and is a tool that we use to reach nonmusical goals.

When I am not making music, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our girls. I love hiking, cooking, and reading. We also love to travel together.
