I have always believed therapy is a place where healing can happen. As your therapist, I will be a person you can trust. In my practice, you will be seen, heard, and loved throughout our time together. My belief is therapy is a place to collaborate and find the best solution for you and your family. As a client, I believe you are the expert on your family.
I graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2012 with my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology- Pre Counseling and 2016 with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. My background also includes a certification as a Registered Play Therapist. I recently received approval, as well as additional training to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor. In this capacity, I will be able to help those beginning their career in the field.
Throughout my childhood and even into my adolescence, I knew that I wanted to work in a field with children. Helping people was also something I enjoyed. Becoming a therapist was a perfect combination of the two. In my course of study at OBU, I learned more about the field and knew it was where God was calling me.
As a therapist, my goal is to give children the voice they sometimes do not have as well as help families heal from past experiences. Because of this, I am trained in Child Parent Psychotherapy, TFCBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and use modalities that include Play Therapy, Experiential, Narrative, and Sand Tray while including families throughout the process. I believe play allows children to express themselves in a way that traditional therapy will not. My areas of focus have included children 10 and below as well as their families but I enjoy working with children of all ages.
In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family and friends. I also spend much of my time serving in my local church. Outside is my favorite place to be, especially when the weather is perfect. I enjoy scrapbooking and keeping my house decorated for each season.
