I am passionate about the counseling profession because of the influence it has had in my own life. I have genuine empathy and compassion for others who find themselves in the midst of a struggle. Once trust and safety are established with my clients, it allows space for them to begin sharing their stories. I am humbled to be given the opportunity to walk alongside others as they pursue growth and healing in their lives.
I graduated from Northeastern State University with my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and taught for five years. I left the classroom to stay home and care for my own children for ten years. I placed my longtime goal of becoming a counselor on hold until three years ago when I took a step in faith, and returned to NSU to pursue my graduate degree in Counseling and Psychology. I obtained my Master of Science degree with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health.
I have been married to my husband, Eric, for fifteen years. We have five children together ranging in ages from 14 to 3. Faith is a foundational part of our family. Most of my free time is spent shuttling my children to their many extracurricular activities. It brings my heart so much joy to watch my kids work hard at doing something they love, and witnessing their character development in the process. My family has recently discovered our love for traveling. It is such a delight to experience new things together.
