LPC-Candidate

From a young age, I said I wanted to help people. However, I was about halfway through my undergraduate degree studying ancient literature when I realized counseling might be a good avenue for that desire.

Through my own need for therapy, and the mental health journeys of those close to me, I have personally seen the power counseling can have to help people on their unique journeys through life. It was that experience and my desire to help that led me to seek a degree in counseling.

I graduated from Oral Roberts University with a B.A. in Biblical Literature in 2021 and an M.A. in Professional Counseling in 2023. After completing my internship at Connect and Restore in the spring of 2023, I decided to return as I entered the field full-time.

I could not be more excited to see a range of clients from the age of 10 up to adult. One of the few individuals I know who actually misses school at times, I am an avid learner and an unashamed lover of stories.

Therefore, it is truly a pleasure to learn about the unique experience and story of a client—not as a labeled patient with a mental health disorder, but first and foremost as a fellow human being. I am honored to walk alongside clients as they learn more about themselves and work toward the healing they deserve. I use elements of several types of therapy, including play therapy, existentialism, and person-centered approaches in my work with clients, and I am continually expanding my professional repertoire to better help my clients with evidence-based practices and an eclectic approach.

When I am not counseling, I enjoy volunteering in my faith community, playing the banjo and singing, reading, watching movies, playing boardgames, hiking, taking road trips, and spending time with family—especially my wonderful wife.
