I came to the counseling profession through a desire to help people experience greater wholeness and become more fully themselves. Through my own experiences with counseling, I saw how transformative it can be to have someone walk alongside you through painful or challenging moments. Those experiences shaped my desire to offer that same kind of support and presence to others.
I attended Oral Roberts University for my undergraduate studies and am completing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Liberty University. Prior to beginning my clinical training, I spent five years working in education in a variety of roles, including as a teacher and college counselor. My time in education gave me the opportunity to work closely with students and families and showed me firsthand the importance of supporting the whole person. I found this work deeply meaningful and recognized that my strengths and passions were leading me toward the field of clinical mental health counseling.
As I learn and grow in my role as a counselor, I am eager to develop and refine my clinical skills while creating a space where each client feels seen, heard, and valued. My approach is person-centered, strengths-focused, and collaborative. I believe counseling is a partnership and that each person has unique strengths and experiences that can be built upon throughout the counseling process.
Outside of the office, you’ll probably find me enjoying a long walk with my family, reading a good book, or horseback riding. We also love serving at our local church and visiting my parents in Texas often.
